Amen. I am having a lot of trouble with the glowing commentary on MJ. He's one of the first artists that I ever remember and I have fond memories of dancing with my older sisters to his music...25 YEARS AGO! It's been 15 years since he's been musically relevant, and surely there isn't anyone who can defend him on the abuse charges, convicted or not. I mean, when OJ dies are we only going to see clips of him scoring touchdowns at USC?

I was just bizarre how everyone forgot all that creepy stuff!

Anyway, I've just come across your blog which makes a pleasant change from all the 'mommy-blogs'! Just wondering why you are posting so infrequently these days (I've read most of your archives now...)? Hope you are just busy :-)

Things have been a lot busier around here, especially since having a second kid, which is why I don't post nearly as much as I used to. I do post about stuff over at Babble.com, and I'm leaving MDD these days for all the other stuff I want to get off my chest.

Thanks a lot for reading though, and I'll try to blog more often.

I'm a single dad who quit my corporate job to be at home with my daughter. I appreciate the honesty in your posts (especially this MJ and father hood post) and think it's a great blog for me to refer back to. I've just started a blog called raisingafather.blogspot.com (named after a book I'm getting ready to publish) and I'd love to link to one another's since we discuss many of the same issues parents face.

That moment was really creepy. I don't know how to react to all the praising that they do for him. I really don't know.

Okay, it is so wierd there was a tribute to Michael Jackson on the Grammy's tonight. He may have been musically talented, but my God he sexually abused children. I just cannot believe that someone would be accused on multiple occasions, paid off families and it really be untrue. During his trial, employees of his even testified of him providing alcohol to young children. These are really bad things. Why is everyone overlooking this because he died???
