Over at Babble.com I just posted something that I want to promote here too - Ten Best iPhone Apps for Distracting Young Children. Throwing my keys or random pieces of paper in my pocket to quiet a toddler in a shopping cart is nothing new to anyone, but with the new iPhone there are a lot of new and interesting diversions to throw at them. Provided of course you make sure they don't actually throw your phone back at you.
The iphone is the digital babysitter. Wish I even had one! Great article

I wanted to know if you could highlight my new kid's app on the iTunes Store.
It is called Henry & Hailey's Preschool Pals.
It is a kids mix and match game.

I kept trying to find a good game for my kids, who are 3 and 5, but most games are so frustrating for little ones, because of all the interface "stuff" that gets in the way... Buttons to push in the correct sequence before you can do anything, things that pop up randomly and take over the screen, not to mention "dying" and having to start over interrupting the fun :-)
Soooo, I decided to make more of a "toy" than a game, something that is just non-stop fun and you can't lose at, you can't break it. It's called TowerSmash and it lets your kids stack up blocks and smash em down. Simple, but my kids (and others, from the reviews) love it!
It's got great physics, and it's fun to try throwing the balls as the blocks are falling and timing it just right. More info if you want to check it out:

Cheers!

iKids Play Apps are for kids ages 3-10. Based on children's books, they're easy for all kids to use, play, and create with. 5 activities allow kids to rub the screen, listen to the story, read and record the story, color the pages or paint new scenes.
New titles are available- newest one out today by NY Times Best Seller Steven Kroll... It's April Fools Day! Check it out!

I let my kids use my iPhone all the time. They are 2 years old and very gentle with it. At my constant insistence. :)
They love Koi Pond and a cute little app called Barnyard Buddies that plays animal sounds when you touch an animal's picture.

My app, "BumperCars" launched in the App store about a week ago (its around #65 in the "Kids Games" category), and the feedback has been positive so far. It's great for kids (or all ages, really), non-violent, has great music and is a simple and easy to use time waster. The link to the App store is below. Check it out!

Not sure if it is considered a kids game, however, my kids ranging 3 to 7 are especially fond of “Bounce On”. We find it can keep them entertained from anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes at a time. They have been able to clear all the levels of the Lite version which has prompted us to consider buying the full version.
My own company produces a grade specific series of educational games called Meghan’s Memory Game which can hold their attention for less time overall but does have the added benefit of helping to teach them how to read while developing memory and attention skills.
You can learn more about Meghan’s Memory Game at our product page located at http://www.ratcatsoftware.com/mmg
