Has anyone else noticed how awesome Jack's Big Music Show on Noggin is? The show is about three puppets (Mary, Jack and his dog Mel) who have a band in a clubhouse behind Jack's house (Mel the dog plays the drums of course). They play songs, encourage kids to dance, and are visited by all kinds of non-puppet people. Some are musicians who come over to play music with them, and some are people like the "music fairy" who grants music wishes The show kind of reminds me of the puppet/human interactions of Sesame Street (apparently two of the creators used to work on Sesame Street), combined with the wackiness of Pee Wee's Playhouse. The music is fun and playful without being annoying, and my Madame loves it (though she'll dance to anything, even the music on a freaking car commercial).
With a lot of average shows for preschoolers out there, it's great having one I don't mind sitting through.

My older son waits in anticipation all day for JBMS to come on, then he sings and dances the entire time. Who'd a thunk it?

I LOVE JBMS. My little boy adores it too. I taped the Dance Party episode and he's in there rocking out.... (although between you and me, the polka song seems to be his favorite).
I'm having trouble finding out the names of the other acts shown in the videos there. We have some Laurie Berkner CDs but there's a few others featured on the show that have an appeal. Any clues how to mine this data?

LET'S ROCK THIS CLUBHOUSE!
My son is 9 months old and is in LOVE with Jacks Big Music show so much that I've replaced "The itsy bitsy spider" with the theme song! That's just the beginning... I first introduced it from Noggin.com and the rest is history!

My daughter is watcing JBMS right now. It's the episode with the Little Bad Wolf. My husband and I enjoy watching it as much (or more) than she does. When the show comes on she dances the entire show and is exhausted by the end. We've set up our tivo to record all the episodes. I'd love to know who the band is that plays on the show and sings such silly songs so that I can find one of their cd's.

It's not Laurie Berkner - it's the other band of young guys. One has a huge red fro. They just did a song about making music that my daughter just loves and thy are wacky and silly and she loves to dance to them.

My 16 month old daughter loves this show. she associates the computer with jack and screams until we play noggin. We have to record the show everyday on the dvr and watch it when we get home.

I can't say enough how much my family (kids 12 years, 7 1/2 years and 2 1/2 years) loves this show. Be it the Sesame Street influenced humour, the music, the Laurie Berkner songs or just Mel playing the drums, each person has their favourite element. We also DVR it and watch several episodes in a row. Hey, it is the only way I can get the two year-old to keep his feet on the floor. Before Jack, or BJ, I had to do most things with my son on my hip. Now I can use both hands to fold the laundry. I also teach a free movement dance class for preschoolers and toddlers, so this show is right up my alley. I hope Noggin keeps this show on for years to come. They have some great musicians on the show and that is wonderful exposure for all kids.
